SELLER and AUCTION SERVICES

__________________________________

Glenn A. Long Fine Arts works with private buyers to place works from collectors wishing to deaccession and divest. In addition to private sales, a network of regional, national, and international auctioneers have been vetted and selected to assist, when and where appropriate, with selling works of art, antiques and other valuable property. We stay current with collector’s motivations and interests and with critical market trends in order to provide reliable expertise and confidentiality, saving you time, aggravation, and money. Whether in private transactions or at auction, the seller’s identity is vigorously protected to the extent to which a seller desires anonymity. Where a seller’s identity is key to best results, such identity is respectfully and professionally disclosed prior to (or after) a successful sale.

Private Sales:

With all potential sales, Glenn A. Long Fine Arts discretely assesses potential for a successful private sale to a qualified individual collector, museum, library, university, and other public or private institution with expressed interest in (or established collections of) comparable works, whether for a single work of art or an entire collection. This is the first notice potential buyers will have regarding possible acquisition of a work, keeping all such works fresh to the market.

Auction Agents:

When consigning property to auction through Glenn A. Long Fine Arts, your costs will be less than if you were to consign to an auction house directly. When securing an auction consignment on your behalf, Glenn A. Long Fine Arts and the auctioneer share sales commissions. And while commission rates vary from one auction house to another, these combined commissions are generally set at 15-20% of the sold price (lower or higher depending on the value of the consigned work and sold results). However, in all cases, the combined sales commission charge by Glenn A. Long Fine Arts will be the same or less (never higher) than the auction house would charge you as a private consignor. And with that savings, you benefit from our active involvement with all aspects of the selling offer, its presentation, its smallest details, all aspects of our expertise to ensure a successful sale. In addition to savings on sales commissions, other expenses (such as insurance, photography, packing, shipping, handling costs, and buy-in fees) are often waived, or are deducted from sales proceeds at our discounted rates.
